Websites for travel agencies, hotels, apartments and restaurants
Guests compare offers on a phone, in three languages and five tabs. The winner is the site that opens quickly, shows the right offer with a price and makes an enquiry or booking effortless.
Priorities
What a tourism website must have
Every direct booking through your own website is a booking without an intermediary’s commission — and a guest whose contact stays with you.
Offers with a “from” price, departure dates and clear terms. Filters by type of trip and season.
Real translated pages with hreflang tags — not machine translation that looks unprofessional to guests and Google.
Large, sharp photos that still load fast — WebP format, correct sizes for mobile and lazy loading.
Google Business Profile, map, reviews and consistent details — for guests searching for accommodation or an agency nearby.
Phone, WhatsApp and email with one tap. Guests on the move don’t want to fill in long forms.
Concept
About the concept in the picture
The concept shows the home page of a travel agency with departures from Bosnia and Herzegovina. A few decisions apply to any tourism website:
- Offer search on the first screen — destination, departure, duration and number of travellers. Guests immediately do what they came for.
- “My booking” and a phone number in the header — for existing travellers looking for trip information.
- Most popular offers with a “from” price — price is the first thing guests want to know, so it is clearly shown.
- Emotional but lightweight graphics — the feel of travel without heavy videos that slow the site down on mobile networks.
Accommodation and hospitality
Hotels, apartments and restaurants
The same rules apply to accommodation, with a few specifics. Guests want to see rooms or apartments with photos, capacity and amenities, the location on a map with distances to key places, and clear terms: check-in and check-out, cancellation, pets, parking.
For restaurants the most important thing is a menu that’s easy to read on a phone (text, not a photo of the menu), opening hours, table reservations and location. All of it should match your details on Google Maps, because most guests find a restaurant there.
If you also sell through Booking.com or Airbnb, your own website doesn’t replace those channels — it’s where your brand is built and where satisfied guests come back. To get started, see the guide how to register a .ba domain.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Can the website take direct bookings?
It can. The simplest option is a booking enquiry with dates and number of guests that arrives by email. If you use a reservation system (channel manager or booking engine), the website connects to it so availability is always accurate.
Which languages should we translate the site into?
Into the languages your guests actually speak. In Bosnia and Herzegovina that’s usually English and German, and for some destinations Turkish or Arabic too. Two well-translated languages are better than five machine translations.
How do international guests find the site on Google?
Every language gets its own URLs, titles and descriptions, with hreflang tags that tell Google which version is for whom. Add a Google Business Profile, photos and reviews — more on that in the guide on Google Maps.
